Quiz and Fun Night

We are holding a Quiz Night again, due to popular demand, on the 12th November

Start getting your teams together, full details of time and location will be provided soon

Team size to be up to 8 only, obviously it can be smaller – up to you. It will be nice to join others and make new friends. Bring your own snacks and drink. There will be a raffle, as well as a prize to the winning quiz team.

Chris Blake of Blake Entertainment will be our Quiz Master, and he will be throwing in a few games to help make it a fun night for us all.

Just £1 Per Month!

With the work we are doing, we need to be able to cover the ongoing monthly cost of storage and other necessary expenses, such as insurance, business rates, etc.

If each visitor to this page was able to donate just £1 per month, we would have a regular income that would cover the operational costs our work incurs, allowing us to help more of those who need our support.

£1 may not sound much per month, but if we have, for example, 300 people each donating £1 per month each, all those £1s combine and it makes a massive difference to our work.

Have your say on how we are run

We are now offering everyone the chance to become a member of New Life Domestic.

As a member, not only will you get to vote on any big decisions facing the organisation, be provided a quarterly update on how we are doing, and get discount on items in our shop, but, more importantly, you will be helping to fund our ongoing work to help the survivors of domestic abuse.

We are now at an important cross roads as an organisation, and we need to be able to secure a regular, predictable, monthly income, so that we are able to cover costs such as business rates and electricity costs on storage facilities, as well as insurance costs, to protect our volunteers, clients and stock.

Each membership level offers our members a vote on all big decisions that will shape our work going forwards, and a quarterly update from us on the work we are doing, and the state of our business, but as an extra thank you we also offer the following discount levels in our online shop.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist those in, and coming out of, domestic abuse situations via official body referrals.

By helping people in those first important steps of furnishing their new home, and providing items such as clothes, toiletries, shoes and other essentials, we aim to make it easier for people to stand on their own 2 feet, and build their new life.

Safe Spaces

There are a number of Safe Spaces provided in the UK, for those looking to escape domestic abuse. These will provide you with a safe and secure environment, where you will be able to make contact with those who will be able to help you.

How to access a Safe Space

  • Walk into any participating pharmacy in the UK.
  • Ask at the healthcare counter to use their Safe Space.
  • A pharmacist will show you to the Safe Space. Which will be the consultancy room.
  • Once inside, you will find displayed specialist domestic abuse support information for you to access, to make that call or access Bright Sky safely.

Safe Spaces are open and ready for you to use.

How To Get Help From New Life Domestic

New Life Domestic, like many similar organisations, work with people by official referral only.

So, to get our help, all you need to do is ask an official organisation, such as Social Services, a domestic abuse organisation, local council, or other similar organisation, to contact us on your behalf, we then ask them to complete a quick form to provide us all the necessary details we will need to help you.

We will assign you a caseworker, once we receive the referral form, who will then begin sourcing any item we don’t have in stock, and arranging for all items to be delivered to you at the earliest possible chance.

Why official referral only? Unfortunately, the answer to this is simple, in the time that we have been running, we have been contacted by people who have tried to take advantage of us, to help with things such as replacing items damaged during a party. By only working with those referred by an official organisation, we can ensure that only those who genuinely need our help are receiving it, and that every penny and item donated to us is going to help someone who is in genuine need
